Business Wire – Charles River Laboratories International has announced the news of acquiring BRAINS On-Line, a renowned leading contract research organization (CRO) that provides critical data that is involved in the advancement of novel therapeutics for the treatment of CNS (central nervous system disease).
Brains On-Line has its branches wide spread in the San Francisco, Netherlands and Germany thus, it is considered as the world’s premier provider of micro dialysis for CNS research. In addition to this Brain On-Line offers sophisticated pharmacokinetic testing and in vivo efficacy to provide the critical data required for the advanced potential CNS therapies through a series of the development process.

The purchase price of Brains On-Line was approximate $21 million based on the current exchange rates. In addition to the initial purchase price, the transaction includes a potential additional payment of approximately $8 million.
